I am on a kick of making Fetching fingerless mitts from knitty for friends for Christmas. I have some leftover Regia sock yarn that I think would make great mitts for my niece…anyone have a children’s fingerless mitt or suggestions on how to downsize Fetching ?
I’ve never made the Fetching mitts so I can’t help there. I did find one pattern on Ravelry for a pair a fingerless mitts for a child, Stripe it up Fingerless Gloves. I’m also going to recommend the Progressive Gloves. There not any one size or pattern but it walks you through the steps of making a glove which might help you figure out how to convert the Fetchings or come up with something of your own.
Good Luck!
Resizing something cabled might be frustrating, but using a lighter weight yarn as you’ve mentioned will give you a smaller size. There are a bunch of kids fingerless patterns on Ravelry.
Thank you for the Raverly suggestion. I searched a few other sites and when I didn’t find what I was looking for gave up. I will get on Ravelry tonight
