fingerless gloves

I have made these before and trying to remember how to add the fingers.
It’s turn work. To start you slip the rest of the stitches to a yarn. Except the 9 stitches you just knitted.
Turn … cast on two stitches. I am not quite sure what to do here.

so Here is the pattern for making the fingers.

Make 1st finger: Knit next
9 (10) sts. Slip all but last 9 (10) sts
onto a length of yarn. Turn. Cast
on 2 sts. Turn. Knit last 9 (10) sts.
Divide these 20 (22) sts onto
3 needles. Join in rnd. Knit to end
of rnd. Knit 9 rnds. Cast off.

Make 2nd finger: Slip next
6 (8) sts from length of yarn.
Turn. Cast on 2 sts. Turn. Knit last
6 (8) sts. Pick up and knit 2 sts at
base of first finger. Divide these
16 (20) sts onto 3 needles. Join
in rnd. Knit to end of rnd. Knit
9 rnds. Cast off.

Make 3rd finger: Slip next
6 (7) sts from length of yarn.
Turn. Cast on 2 sts. Turn. Knit last
6 (7) sts. Pick up and knit 2 sts
at base of second finger. Divide
these 16 (18) sts onto 3 needles.
Join in rnd. Knit to end of rnd. Knit
9 rnds. Cast off.

Make 4th finger: Slip last 12 sts
from length of yarn. Pick up and
knit 3 sts at base of third finger.
Divide these 15 sts onto 3 needles.
Join in rnd. Knit to end of rnd. Knit
7 rnds. Cast off

You’ll be knitting the first finger on the next 9sts, putting the rest of the sts on hold except for the last 9sts. For the area between finger one and finger 2, cast on 2sts. The “turn” just refers to the way you would switch needles in your hands for the cast on. Once the sts are cast onto the righthand needle, turn again to continue knitting the last 9sts.
This video shows the turns starting at about 55seconds. You’re not making a buttonhole so no need to cast off or or work the end of the cast on (the pass stitch over).

so I knit 9 stitches put all the rest on a yarn (except 9 stitches) turn the work add on two stitches turn again and knit the last 9 stitches… okay makes sense I’ll give it a try thanks Salmonmac
