Fine Yarn

I am using a super fine yarn (weight of 1) and I need to add another ball- how do I add it in when the yarn is so fine- my usual go to is a Russian join but it can’t be done with such a fine yarn.

Typically I knit one stitch with both yarns, drop the old one and continue with the new. I use a stitch marker to remind me to not work two stitches into the double yarn stitch. Later I weave in the tails.
