*finally* finished sweater!

I’ve been working on this sweater for…well, it seems like forever…4 months. I cast-on in October, and finished yesterday. It didn’t really help that I ran out of the main color, then had to re-do the sleeve cast-offs three times before I finally settled on 3x1 ribbing, and I re-knit the last 6 inches of the body ribbing from 2x2 to 3x1 ribbing to match the sleeves. I’m still not completely happy with the neck, but it also has not been blocked yet. I’m hoping it will all work out in the end.

Very nice! I really like the two colors–they work well together. I also like the way the sleeves flair out at the cuffs. Great work!

It looks great!

Cute!

:yay: Great job!

wow! I don’t have the patience for such a huge undertaking!
Congrats on completion, and it looks great!

Very nice! And, only 4 months?! I’d have to say you got done fast…It took me 2 years to finish the first sweater I ever made :teehee:

Nice job …kip it up

Thanks everyone! A friend at knitting tonight said I might think about re-doing the neck by picking up every other row instead of every row for the knitted I-cord. Since I don’t have enough of the red left to re-do the neck after blocking, I’ll probably go the former route first. I got a lot of compliments from the gals at knitting, too!

This is not my first sweater (my dog ate my first sweater), but it’s my first all-wool sweater.

Looks lovely on you

Great job! Love the colors and the way you improvised to make everything work together.

I see, the gray is the sleeves. I thought you were wearing a gray sweater under the top. The layered look is really in these days so it works great. Is that bit of gray at the neck knitted on or is something underneath? Necessity is the mother of invention. Running out of yarn stretched your creativity in a new direction and produced a cool sweater. I like the neckline you have in the picture.

I’m wearing a brown top underneath; there is no gray except in the sleeves. I’m still not happy with the neckline, and I may have posted this already, but I’m going to re-do the knitted on I-cord to pick up every other row or maybe 3 rows out of four instead of every row as I have now. If the neck line would stay in the shape as it is in the picture, I’d be satisfied.

I like the sweater more and more; it just wasn’t at all what I had pictured it being when I started the adventure!

Looks great. I think the neckline looks good but you can just keep playing a bit until you are happy with it.
