i use the ‘new posts’ function instead of just checking every sub-section when i want to see forum updates.
is there a way to hide/ignore/block certain threads? i’m not subscribed to them and haven’t commented in them, but they still show up when there’s a new entry, and there a number that are not my cup of tea.
so, anyway, if there’s a way to do that as an auto-feature, i’d love to know… thanks! - X 
I didn’t see anything in User Settings but I may well have missed it. I’ll ask Sheldon if the feature exists and link to your post.
As far as I know all post that have new comments will appear when you click the “new posts” button.
Are you wanting to ignore/hide certain people and all their posts or just threads in general that are of little interest?

I think whatever this site software is it’s limited. Sheldon has mentioned he couldn’t do certain things with it so that may change eventually.
