Figuring out dimensions for shorter version of a pattern

I finished my mare shawl!

Its beautiful, but it definitely needs to be blocked. I have the t-pins, blocking mats and even blocking wires. However, I have no idea what the intended dimensions are because I opted to do the smaller version of the shawl (I didn’t do the repeated flower and checkerboard section).

The original pattern is approx. 280 cm / 110.25” wingspan, measured along the top edge, and a depth of 59 cm / 23.25”.

What dimensions should I try to block my smaller shawl to?
Also, any great tutorials on blocking with needles that you love?

I would wash, get rid of excess moisture either by wrapping in a towel or in the spin cycle of the washing machine. Then block out the lace trim along the lower edge to open up the lace pattern. That’ll help determine the length to block the upper part. I want to open lace and usually reasonably stretch out the knitting. I don’t like to force it.
