A bit, but not exactly…the fiber trends pattern has a double-thick sole and a contrasting color sole and rim around the ankle, if you wish.
I can’t believe I don’t have this pattern yet.
I’m going shopping!
You will not regret it, Sil…it’s GENIOUS.
WOOT! I did it… I bought the pattern and yarn. I’m making light grey clogs with dark grey soles. :happydance:
I hope you didnt buy the yarn called for…the WOTA is SO much cheaper & works VERY well for that pattern! Under 15 bucks for my DH’s HUGE feet!
I don’t even know what the recommended yarn is. But I’m not using WOTA. I didn’t like the color choices (I reeeeally wish knitpicks would increase the color choices!!) I bought Cascade 220.
Yeah…I wouldnt complain with a little more color selection, either.
Well, on day 2 of felting. I think they are continuing to get smaller. Maybe I need to try the dryer trick. Did that seem to help?
DH is 12 1/2, so I made the 13 thinking I would have no problem shrinking them as much as needed
Yeah, the dryer did help a bit. AND, you can stick 'em back in the washer to felt 'em some more if you need to after that, too.
I ordered yarn for these–my first knit picks order! I thought they would make a good b-day present for my dad.
Whenever I’ve felted things, I’ve always let them go through the entire cycle. I don’t know if that will help at all!
BTW, kemp, I like your blog! I tried to leave you a message but it wouldn’t let me register.
What do you line them with :?? I think I need to make these for DH as well!
I don’t line them. They are very soft and comfy after the felting.
Kemp…
Just out of curiosity, are you putting something else in the wash to help agitate them and speed the felting process? Like an old pair of jeans or two? (Actually I find they don’t have to be old, it doesn’t harm them other than get them really really clean. LOL) Remember not to use towels or anything that will add lint… that stuff gets stuck in the felt and will never come out.
Ugh… all this talk is making me reeeeally anxious to get my pattern and yarn. I can’t wait to make them!! :XX:
When I felt something, I put it in a pillowcase & tie the end shut. Then I throw in a couple pairs of jeans or towels. I don’t worry about lint because of the pillowcase. You need as much agitation as you can get. The pillow case helps keep your knit item scrunched up with also provides agitation. If you have a small load, use a small amount of water. Follow the hot water with a cold rinse. Repeat. Repeat.

What they all said.
well what is that gray liner lookin’ think in Kemp’s :?? That is what prompted the asking…
I think that she stuffed them with paper or plastic to give us a better picture of just how big they are before felting.
ahhhhhhh! Got ya.
:roflhard: KK, you are too funny…I love that “ellen” fish.
Mer…thanks for looking. Rather boring right now (I have been more focused on the design than the posts!), but it has been fun doing a webpage again and getting into the coding stuff. Not sure about the registering thing. I am sure it is something I have done wrong
I’ll let you know when I figure it out.
Mer…did you get this page when trying to register? Trying to figure out what went wrong.
