Felting slippers

my daughers foot is 8.5inches I want to felt some mray janes for her. I found a simple pattern for slippers but not to felt. So how many inches would I need to knit if her foot is 8.5 inches in length. Is there any rule of thumb as how big something has to be to felt?

thank you

I’m not sure if there is a way to judge that or not… I did find these 2 patterns that are felted…it may help you some with either judging how to big make them or one of them may work

Thank you so much!!!

From the research I did on the same question, it’s about 1/3 longer. However, the sizing in fullied products is done by the fulling itself, so keeping an eye on the project (checking every ten minutes or so) will do more on the perfect size than having an exact lenghth when knitting.

I made the Mary Janes from the pattern dustinac (although didn’t end up cutting them at daughter’s request). It’s just a sock… Pics on my bloghere andhere…

I have knitted the fibertrends ones…they are awesome! My favorite slipper pattern
