Felting newbie question

Can I felt this stocking with something other than a pair of jeans in the washer? Last time I did that, I shrunk my jeans some. How about a towel?

try a white bedsheet or something like that. towel will probly give you fuzzies.

I put my items to be felted into a zipped pillow case, this protects item from picking up fuzzies, I then thow in a couple of big towels.
