Feltable?

I know this sounds funny to all of you experienced knitters but what is a feltable yarn?? I know what felt is so I’m guessing it is a yarn that once washed and dryed feels like felt. Am I correct? If so or even if I’m not right what is a good brand of feltable yarn. Also any patterns that come out nice when worked with feltable yarn?

Felting is taking hand wash only wool and washing it in the washer and dryer. And yes it does feel like felt

I’d say go with Knitpicks WOTA(wool of the andies). Alot of people say that’s great to use when felting, but I havn’t tried it yet.

Thank you  I sorta was right :happydance: I will definitely give it a try at a later point in time. However I’m kind of busy right now with the preemie hats :XX:

You can use any hand wash yarn to felt with. Although I heard that lighter colors like light tans and whites don’t felt well… I don’t know why though :??

Just make sure that the wool says hand wash only and you’ll be good to go!

And I think that you can only felt with animal hairs…
