Feltability

Does anyone know if this, Schaefer Elaine Women 99% merino 1% nylon, will felt? I’m not sure if the 1% nylon will impede the felting or not.

nah it doesn’t have to be 100%…usually at least 85% is best but people have successfully felted 50% even (though it is a LOT of work!) as long as it doesn’t say that it is machine washable you should be good! :thumbsup:

I’m not suggesting you actually do this, but when I took that class w/Cat Bordhi, she said she will snip off like an inch of yarn, spit in her palm, then rub the yarn quickly between her palms for about a minute to see if the yarn will felt or not. She showed us in the class, and it really did work. Myself, I would be to scared to be snipping off yarn in a store, but who knows…

oh no, i have done that myself at home. learned it in one of the joining videos from Amy…i was just imagining you trying to do it in the LYS without anybody noticing.
