Feeling Cynical?

WARNING: I woke up feeling a little cynical this morning.

I just got to the KnitBits newsletters that have piled up in my inbox, and the one from May 27 has this in it. Is this placemat & matching coaster & tumbler ugly, or is it just me? And I’m not all that crazy about the pillow, either. It looks like a silk worm threw up on it.

I just had to ask, and then I’m going to go back to being my reasonable self again. Don’t know why this got to me this morning, or why I felt so compelled to share my less-than-jolly feelings about them.

I don’t know how to post it here, but if you have a chance, take a look at the Goldilocks Felted Bag Kit from www.onefineyarn.com. It looks like Spongebob after years on drugs! :rofling:

OMGawd, that Spongebob Bag is absolutely hideous! It looks like severed fingers hanging off the bottom.

Hehe, you can put that hairy yarn on flip flops, not just placemats! But, really, why end there!!! Ooh, the ideas are a-comin’ - I can wrap my lampshade in it, DH’s wallet, my fan blades, my car’s steering wheel, the toilet seat cover…the possibilities are endless. :roflhard:

riddle me this :?? …WHAT’S WITH THE UGLY?! and then these companies say stuff like … ‘we’re trying to attract the kids that want to learn to knit’…well…that sure AIN’T :fingerwag: gonna help!!! I can hear the kids now, talking about this ugly…very yugly (as one of my kids called it…pronounced…‘you-glee’)…but…I also know that it cannot be repeated on here.
