Feather and Fan Afghan Pattern

Hi, everyone,

I would like a pattern for a feather and fan afghan, adult size. Is there a good free pattern on line, or I don’t mind paying for the pattern if I need to.

How many of you have knitted one of these afghans? I usually crochet afghans, but really like the feather and fan afghans I’ve seen, so would like to make one.

Thanks for your help and happy knitting!

Sharon

You can find this pattern at knittingpatterncentral.com. Also I have a booklet by Plymouth Yarns for afghans in double strands of worsted wt. with this pattern. It is booklet 638, Done By Monday Afghans.
I just did a scarf in this pattern. Very easy.
Row one: knit all sts.
Row two: k2 (border sts), p all sts, k2 for border.
Row three: K2, (k2 tog) 3 times,(yo, k1) 6 times,(k2tog) 3 times,k2.
Row 4: k all sts.
You need to cast on a multiple of 18 sts and the two extra on each end are border sts.

Most of the patterns are for scarves or baby blankets, but I did find a few.

I made one for my daughter-in-law to remind them of Key West when they were stationed there(my son is in US Navy). I casted on mulitples of 18 stitches plus 20 extra stitches for a 10 stitch f garter stitch border on the sides and the ends had a 3 row garter stitch border from the stitch pattern

There is a free pattern on the Bernat website that uses Satin yarn: http://www.bernat.com/pattern.php?PID=4528
