Favorite Christmas CD"s?

I am trying to update my ipod for the season. Unfortunately some of my very favorite bootlet compilations CD’s have died a grim death - so I am somewhat starting from scratch. What are your favorites??

TIA!
Suzie (listening to the Nutcracker as I type!)

grin I would have to say my very favorite Christmas CD is ‘Carols Loudly Bellowed’ - which is myself and some friends singing carols as we do on the Streets of Skaeateles NY every winter. (I am Benjermin Laudley-Bellowes ;
Town Crier for the village of Skaneateles - in the year 1842) - copies are available for sale, btw…grin

I love the Gaither’s Christmas A Time For Joy…where they sing Mary did you know…I cry and get goosebumps everytime Mark sings that… and then I watch the video and do the same thing…:teehee:

I have pretty diverse taste in music, especially Christmas music. My top three favorites this season are: Brad Paisley Christmas; The soundtrack to A Charlie Brown Christmas; and Christmas Eve and Other Stories by the Trans Siberian Orchestra

Ella Fitzgerald’s Swinging Christmas and The Carpenters two-disc set are my favorites - but I think I have a bit of everything. Check out some of the compilations from Starbucks.

Oh…I forgot…I love the Rudolph soundtrack!

The ones I have are mostly country Christmas by various artists. My all time favorite Christmas songs are Holly Jolly Christmas by Burl Ives, White Christmas by Bing Crosby and Little Drummer Boy by David Bowie and Bing Crosby. I don’t like those sad tear jerker things like the Christmas Shoes.

My favorite cd’s are of Johnny Mathis xmas singing. I don’t listen to him all year other than xmas time. His voice is a tradition in my house around the holidays.

off the top of my head, here are some I have:

Ultra Lounge Christmas Cocktails 1, 2, and 3
Hey Santa! - Carnie and Wendy Wilson
Christmas Eve - David Lanz
Now That’s What I Call Christmas
a Frank Sinatra Christmas CD (I forgot the album name)
Joy! Joy! Joy! - Kim Robertson and Steve Kujala
Christmas Morning - Celestial Winds
The Best of Narada Christmas
Christmas Album - Barbra Streisand
Merry Christmas from the Beach Boys

I was a little disappointed by the rest of the disc (A Winter’s Night), so I won’t recommend it on the whole…but you can download the best song on iTunes: “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” by the Barenaked Ladies. With special guest Sarah McLauchlan! It was my fave on my Christmas playlist last year, and I thought I might be sick of it this year because I listened to it eleventy billion times…but I’m not

I second the Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack. I don’t really have a lot of Christmas CDs, but I’ve downloaded and made my own, and some of my favorite songs are:

Baby, It’s Cold Outside (Johnny Mercer version, NOT nick and jessica…:teehee: )
Santa Baby (Eartha Kitt)
Rudolph
White Christmas (Bing Crosby)
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas (Judy Garland)
Little St. Nick (Beach Boys)
Holly Jolly Christmas (Burl Ives)
O Holy Night
Happy Xmas (John Lennon)
Sleigh Ride (Johnny Mathis)

There are far too many more to list, but these are my absolute favorites.

Hope this helps, and whatever holiday everybody on this board celebrates, I hope it’s happy, healthy and safe.

My favorite Christmas CD’s are:

“A Christmas Story” by Point Of Grace
"Merry Christmas With Love" by Clay Aiken
"If Every Day Was Like Christmas" by Elvis (LOVE this one)
“Light of The World” by The Martins.

Anything by Elvis!!

My favorite all time X-mas song is “I want a hippopotamus for Christmas”. The cd is hard to find though.

I just love “Celtic Woman’s A Christmas Celebration”. I am playing it right now on my computer and the CD is in my truck. My dd just gave me the Clay Aiken Christmas CD and that is great too.

on the way to Safeway this morning I heard the Josh Groban version of ‘O Holy Night’ and I decided I must get his CD!

Absolutely! And he sings Christmas music beautifully. The word that best describes it is ‘cozy.’ When the tree is up, your relaxing with you knitting with this CD in the background…Cozy!

:woot: YES!! My little girl is liking Elvis too…she is 4… and so we have been listening to his Christmas CD…she just sings along with him… she has her eye on my Elvis doll right now…doesn’t understand why he can’t come out of the box and play with her dolls :oo:

Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas” hands down.

my grandpa and I used to sit on the couch together and watch White Christmas when it was on every year… 1 carton of ice cream with 2 spoons or we’d each have a bowl of saltines in milk
