Fasten off with one stitch left on needle? (Pattern)

Hi, I’m having trouble understanding a step on a pattern instruction,
I’m shaping the neck and shoulders of a pullover so I’ve had to decrease on both sides until there was one stitch left, and the last step it says to “fasten off” (more precisely: ssk and fasten off) I’m a little confused as to how I got about this, do I bind off that one stitch as i would any other row of stitches, or do i simply pull the yarn out of the loop that remains ?
I’ll attach a screenshot of the pattern section I’m looking at:

Fasten off usually applies when there’s one stitch left. Cut the yarn leaving about a 6 inch tail to weave in later and pull the tail through the stitch (through the loop). Ta-da! That’s it.

Yay! Thank you so much!!
