FAST baby hat?

Hi! I want to make my baby a hat for tomorrow afternoon. We’re going to be outside a long time, and I’ve lost her other knit hat.

I have Paton’s Classic Merino Wool, and I was originally planning to CO 56 stitches on my size 7 dpns. But I think it will go faster if I use 2 strands at once.

Can I still use my size 7s? How many stitches should I CO? Half of the originally planned 56?

That would make it go faster holding 2 strands together…first you would have to do a test swatch…then I would prolly follow this basic hat pattern it helps you with figuring out all the math…:thumbsup:
