Falling Snow stocking

I am doing endless hats and mittens for Christmas (12 sets to be exact) and in a knitting frenzy. Dedided to take a break to knit a stocking. This pattern is “Falling Snow Stocking” (free on Ravelry) and made with Lamb’s Pride Bulky. Although the pattern called for bulky yarn, I don’t think they intended it to be quite as bulky as LPB so the stocking came out HUGE.

I decided to felt it and I think it’s pretty neat. The pattern design is a bit blurred in the felting process and it looks like the colors ran but actually its the fuzzy red yarn obscuring the whit. Once dry I’m going to take a sweater defuzzer to it and I think it will remove some of the red hairs and make the pattern a bit clearer.

The first picture is before and the second after felting.

That’s beautiful, Ginny!:yay:

Very lovely! I love red and white Fair Isle knitting. Nice job!

FABULOUS WORK! I adore the red and white combo! Great knitting!!!

You knit such cool things; love the stocking, and like everyone else, the red and white together.

Wow, it turned out awesome! I Love the felting! Just beautiful!
