I’ve never thought I would ever wear a shrug, because I’m a plus-size girl. The thought of my belly hanging out exposed for the world to see just didn’t appeal to me.
But, the other day, I was in a department store, and saw a shrug hanging in the women’s section. There was a mirror nearby, so I tried it on, and to my surprise, it was very flattering. Now, mind you…it’s NOT one of those shrugs that just covers your shoulders. This one went all the way down in the back, and draped very nicely around the sides.
As usual, I’ve changed the pattern. I didn’t like the way the Double Moss pattern looked with my variegated yarn, so I’m just doing mine in regular old stockinette. I really like the way it’s going so far.
I’m using TLC Essentials yarn in the color “Falling Leaves”. I’ve had 5 skeins of that yarn sitting around for quite a long time. I’m glad to put it to good use. I just LOVE the colors!
I used that pattern to make my DD shrug last Christmas. I also made one for myself. Her’s was made out of cotton fleece and had a very nice drape to it.
Ohmygosh, that yarn is so pretty! I’m running out right now to buy it! I’ve been searching for a pretty varigated yarn to make a shawl for my friend that’s anxiously awaiting a double lung transplant.
