Failed pattern; worth frogging?

I tried to make a simple hat but by the time I was nearly finished with it I realized that I had measured the initial cast on way off and it was going to be extremely loose (this was for someone else so I wasn’t able to try it on them, only get the initial measurement). The yarn is a cheap 100% acrylic, is it worth unraveling the entire thing to use the yarn over again or would it be too curled and kinked to be usable? It’s just stockinette knitted in the round.

I reuse yarn all the time. Rip out and reknit and it’ll be fine.

I agree with Sue. Most cheap acrylic takes this fine even multiple times. It should be enough to make a hat that fits this time. The kinks are minor and don’t hurt anything.

Oh, and they’ll even out when you wash it after you’re done.

i re-knit with cheap acryclic all the time

it will be fine!

I have ripped out the scarf I am working on twice now and just keep reusing the yarn…if you ball it up and keep it from tangling, you can’t even notice the kinks while you use it!

True, loosely winding it does make the kinks relax.
