EZ Pi Shawl question

I’m planning the Pi Shawl I’m going to make for Christmas and I have a question about the border. I want to use Angel wings scallop edging from [I]Knitting On the Edge[/I]. It’s knit like EZ’s border. I want to make sure I am understanding this right. I cast on with a different needle and knit to the end and then knit it together with the shawl right?

Right.

For a neater edge, you could slip,slip,knit the edge together with the shawl stitches.
