Does anyone know of a scarf pattern that has a bunch of buttonholes in it? I just wondered. I know… extremely odd :teehee: I was wanting to practice the technique. Thanx for any help that can be offered!
YOu could just practice making button holes… OOO!!! IDEA!! :figureditout:
Make a reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally long scarf, and on one side of one half put some botton holes. Then you can sew button on the corresonding other half, and have a button up scarf!
That is a really NIFTY idea!!! thanx!!! :teehee: :cheering:
I remember seeing a few patterns like this on the Lion brand website… I bet if you search “button scarf” you’ll come up with some.
When I first started knitting I bought a kit from Target for a hat and scarf. The scarf is knit in sections with buttonholes to attach it to the next section. Each section is knit in a different pattern, ie. moss, basket stitch, broken rib, eyelets, diagonal garter, etc.
If you would like me to copy the pattern and mail it to you, pm me.
I made a headband that has 3 buttonholes in it. If you go to my website
www.mustkeepknitting.wordpress.com
and click on Marina: A cabled headband you will find the pattern.
Here you will find something about patterns with really big (huge? large?) buttonholes
Your idea isn’t extremely odd at all :teehee:
i think i remember seeing a pattern for a convertible shrug on knitty. basically, you can button it up one way and it’s a long-sleeve shrug. button up the other way and it’s a short sleeve shrug with a cowl.
