Extra Stitches?

I’m working on my first “real” project: a scarf. Yay. I need a scarf.

Anyhose, I started out with 36 stitches and am now up to 42. I thought I was being super careful, but obviously not.

How does this happen? Is it a beast that must be stopped? And if so, how can I stop it?

I guess I should just be glad that my scarf doesn’t look like a giant funnel, eh? :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks

Yes, do look at this thread.

It can happen if you don’t keep the yarn in back when doing knit stitches so you are accidentally doing yarn overs (YO). Or you may not be taking the stitch off the needle correctly each time.

Are you kidding me? Do you think I actually look at things in front of my face and see them?

((whispering)) Thorry! Will do…
