I’m starting a baby hat stockinette project.
I’m new at this. In between 2 needles, where I cast on, they are not connected as tightly as between my other needles. I don’t know what happened- I made sure to tug in between each transfer. Can I do anything about this or should I start over?
Here’s a photo. The red circle shows what I’m referring to
If the cast on is made correct, then just continue to work in the rounds. If you notice anything loose after a few rounds you just take a small needle and spread that extra yarn over a longer distance.

So the loose strands have gotten looser.
How would I spread the extra yarn over a longer distance? Is there a photo you could share by any chance to demonstrate?
Thanks for your help!
EDIT: Here are two updated photos. I’ve knitted 4 rows so far.
You simply follow the yarn in both direction and first at one stitch away from the gap you pull the yarn so you get the loop there, then you go one step further and again pull until you get the loop there and like that you continue until you have got rid of the loop. If you do that in both direction you will spread out the loose strands over a bigger distance.
But as you are just in the beginning of the project, it might be easier to just rip it out and begin again… especially as you need to do the correction for each row.
When working in the rounds with DPNs it is important to always pull the first stitch of each needle tight. The second stitch should be semitight. Third stitch is fully normal. I also think it is easier to work with 4 needles around. There is less chance of this kind of problems if you got more needles because then the angle between the needles is better.

I just started the project over, making sure that pull the first stitch tight, second stitch semitight, and third normal. But the same exact thing is happening again! It only happens where the cast on stitch is.
At first it looked perfectly fine but when I get to the second row and I pull the needles away from each other a bit, the yarn loosens and there is a “line” of yarn in between the last working needles and then the beginning of the second row. What am I doing wrong?
