Explaining swatches!

Last night I was at my new drama group and during other people’s auditions I pulled out my needles and carried on with a new swatch I’m current swatch-ing. :XX:

Many people asked me what I was making and i launched into “well, i will be making a hat for my nephew, but this is a swatch to measure the guage of the wool I’m using…”

The glazed looks after “but this is a swatch…” were common. But when I just answered “A hat for my nephew,” people looked at me like I was mental - “It’s going to be a bit small, isn’t it?”

From now on, I’ll just answer “nothing much…”

sigh…non-knitting minds are so limited… (jk) LOL!

No, they are. :rofling:

:roflhard: or you will be BO something and someone will say thats cool but what about all those loose ends you have in there that can’t be good  weave gonna weave them in!!

EXACTLY!

My boyf keeps mentioning the “tassles” along my HPPoA scarf.

no matter how many times I explain weaving he still doesn’t fully get it.

Hee hee- OT- just found out I got one of the leads our next play! :happydance:

:happydance: congratulations! :happydance:

What’s the play?!

Last Panto in Little Grimley! :sunglasses:

It;s a comedy about a small (and rubbish) am-dram group who decide buck the traditional panto trend - the director writes his own sex panto loosely based on “Puss in Boots.”

Thankfully, you don’t see any of the sex bits!!
