I am still working on what I call my Elven Sweater, Forrest Green, simple top down cardigan, should end down around my knees when done. I put a window pane stitch pattern (called Northern Lights by Barbara Walker) on just the sleeves. I also put a ruffled ribbing on the ends of the sleeves.
I also put the Spider Motif on the INSIDE of the hood, it is almost un-noticeable when the hood is up, you can see a bit of a dip where the body is, but nothing major.
the pic does not show the detail like I would prefer for ya all, but I M darned proud of it. Maybe if you look closely you can see the texture on the sleeves. The front reaches all the way across my chest, the back has a bit of a gap, I might make a pleat at the back to thread lacing in to cinch it up.
am thinking about doing a split ribbing for the pleat, with a K2T YO for the lacing holes
I cannot wait tol it is done and I can block it out
LOL
I had a staff meeting yesterday about the camp I work at, and the people who know me asked what I was knitting, so I said;
OOhh, let me show you… see its gonna be long, almost to my knees, and I made a pattern called ‘northern lights’ on the sleeves, see how it looks like hearts? and the frilly sleeves for FUN. . . . OH Oh oh ohohoh, and the HOOD, can you imagine how many kids are gonna try the ‘there is a spider on your sweater’ each week?
my new boss (who used to be my supervisor, and is not promoted) laughed and said “you spend WAY to much time looking forward to your job”
