OK, so I found this great pattern for hat and scarf. It instructs you to “make your own varigated yarn” by joining (I planned on finger felting) colors at irregular intervals. The pattern does not give any yardage requirements. How do I know how much yarn to use? It gives a gauge and finished measurements. Is there a way to calculate how much yarn is used? The intent is to use up your scraps, but I don’t have nuch os a stash, so I don’t have scraps. (I’m a relatively new knitter and new to forums) :XX:
