Hi,
I’m new to the forum. I’m an “advanced beginner,” and I bought an Erica Knight pattern book (classic knits), but I’m disturbed to read that there are errors in the tank top pattern I’m trying. The reviewers on Amazon.com don’t say what the specific errors are, but I thought something was screwy w/ gauge. I’ve used two different sized needles and I still can’t get the 4 in required: first six, then five. Should I just do a smaller size? So frustrated!
One Amazon reviewer said that gauge was off by a “factor of 10.” What does that mean?
Thanks!
Well I might have answered my own question. I googled the book title and errata and find that the gauge swatch should have been 8 stitches instead of 18! That’s a pretty big error! The Amazon reviewer said there was also another error w/ binding off on the straps. Oh well, I’ll cross that bridge (or strap) when I get to it, but if anyone else has experience w/ this book and knows of other errors, pls let me know.
Thnks
If you found the errata page, that should include any for patterns in the entire book. What a lot of people do is print out the errata and stitck it in the book for future reference.
