I’ve looked at several tutorials and, although the directions seem clear, I don’t understand how to start on the rectangle. I’m using this tutorial http://knittyotter.typepad.com/otterknits/2007/03/entrelac_scarf_.html

I have the first row of triangles completed. I don’t understand exactly where and how to start the next section:

Left Side Triangle

Row 1: (WS) k1, turn
Row 2: kfb, turn
etc.

Can someone describe where this goes in relation to the 3 completed triangles? I tried following the directions and whatever I did wasn’t correct.

On row 3, when you have to p2tog, you’ll be purling the last stitch of the side triangle together with the first stitch of the last section of the 3 that you made.

Just do each row step by step and it should come together.

I know nothing about entrelac but I looked at the tutorial and it looks so interesting I want to try it.

I’m still not sure where row 1 of the side triangle goes. Do I use the last stitch of the third triangle- knit 1 using stitch 6?

Yes, I think that’s right. K1, flip the piece around, kfb on the RS, then turn again. You have 2 sts on the right needle and you knit the first one, and purl the next one together with a stitch from the other stitches from the triangle.
