Enlarging pattern help

Hello, I am new to the site and looking forward to meeting great knitters of all skill levels. I have a question for anyone out there:

My grandmother created a baby’s homecoming set in 1918. Back then babies were born a lot smaller than now. I have the pattern but need to adjust the size to accomodate today’s larger baby. I have a grandbaby on the way in August and really need to get knitting. Does anyone have any ideas? I really appreciate it!

Hi Juma, welcome!
One way would be to use heavier yarn (such as sport or worsted rather than baby) and larger needles, appropriate for the size of the yarn. Worsted works well on size 6, 7, or 8, and sport weight on 6 or 7.
My 1st grand child was born last year
Have fun!
