Ending a Seam

When ending a sweater seam (using 100% wool):

A. Do you first tie a knot and then weave in the ends?

OR

B. Do you simply weave in the ends (without tying any knot)?

Thanks! I’ve been struggling to find good advice on this for a year. I feel like I’ve watched 100 seaming videos and none explain what to do at the end.

I usually tie a single knot at the beginning and at the end of a seam then weave in the ends.

It is neater to not tie any knots. If you seam in 3-4 inches of tail, it will be plenty secure.

But if you are going to knot it, I would do a tight double knot, then weave in the tail.

I never but never tie knots. 99.99% of my work is circular and I weave in new color and weave out old. That works for me. I’ve never had anything come apart.
