It’s been so long since I’ve posted on this forum! Life gets in the way, don’t ya know. 
My question is this:
Whenever I do the basic raglan decrease of ssk, k2tog, there’s a ladder that appears between them. Is there a way to stop this?
I’ve tried knitting tighter, and it doesn’t appear to make any difference.
I’m working on a shrug for my daughter, and really want to avoid the laddering.

I’d put a stitch or two between the decreases. I think when you put them right next to each other that’s unavoidable.
