Edge to edge seams

If I do edge to edge seams do I need to do this in the back of the work? ((I’m doing an paneled blanket that doesnt really explain joining))

Per this link (given to me on this site), it doesn’t look like it will matter but I want to make sure. It just seems that it’d be easier for me to make sure I’m all lined up if I do the seaming from the front.

When I’ve done edge to edge, I do it from the front. If I recall, your pattern said to connect at the back, but I think they wanted you to sew half the stitch at the back. I think this way will work better.
