edge of shawl rolliing up

I have a lace shawl I like to knit. I usually bump the gauge up, to showcase the lace. Recently I finished one that had almost no lace rows (and none near the edge) but I am having a real problem with the stockinette stitch edge curling up. I’ve blocked it a couple of times. It still wants to curl. Any suggestions? I thought of knitting every row but it looks so clunky. Thanks!!!

Stockenette does want to curl and there are only so many things you can do to mitigate it. Would a seed stitch border work? It’ll lie flat and it a bit lighter looking than garter (knit every row). Is i-cord still too stiff and clunky?
TechKnitter has a series on stockinette curl with some suggestions for helping with curl or flip of the border.

Stockinette will always roll. When I make stockinette shawls a few garter rows along the bottom will stop it, or an i-cord edge like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=miMbWk3FW4s will mitigate it.

Is it from a pattern that you could link to, or could you upload a photo?

One idea I had would be to sew some bias binding in a matching or toning colour to the wrong side. Bias binding usually comes folded, but you could iron it flat. You can also get bias tape, which is an unfolded strip of fabric.

But this might not be suitable at all. I have done it on a skirt hem before, but not a shawl, so I don’t know whether it would work.
