You can knit in the round on double pointed needles, is that right? Is it easier to learn to knit in the round on double pointed needles or a circular needle? Is there a video for knitting in the round on double pointed ( only can find the ones w/ circular needles)?
TIA
Jessica
I think it’s easier on circulars IF you’re knitting something big enough around to fit on them. Using dpns is awkward for the first few rows, but then gets easier. You can use longer circulars and the Magic Loop method to make socks, armwarmers and the top of a hat but it uses a little different technique than just knitting around. Also in the Advanced techniques section at this site, go down to small diameter knitting and there’s a video for dpns too.

The instructional videos for large and small diameter circular knitting are located here…
I much prefer to do everything with 2 circular needles rather than dpns. Even really small circumferences. I just finished a couple of baby hats on 2 circs and I also use 2 circs when starting lace shawls knit in the round because typically they call for starting with only a few stitches on each dpn and it is really hard to knit a round without having the needles fall out. No problem though with 2 circs.
