I posted my problem of having a dark color bleed into a lighter color on a wool scarf. The dark part is a variegated dark green, brown, and blue. The light is an off white. My dear husband came up with the idea of dyeing the scarf in a light color (say a tan color) to cover up the spots where the color bled. The irregular spots are a light yellow. The dark color might not be affected. I would definitely pretest it with the leftover yarn. Does anyone have an opinion or experience with this?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Dyeing scarf to fix color bleed
I have no experience with this at all but the idea of testing a swatch sounds like the way to go. It gives you the chance to try out the dye color and see if it covers the unwanted color and how it affects the other colors.
