I am knitting a small project and was wondering if it would be okay to dye the project after it is knitted, or do I have to dye the yarn first then knit it? I would be felting the project after it’s knitted so it might be easier to dye it then and do it all at once I thought.

You can dye it after it’s knitted, but the color will be less even. This marbled appearance might be what you’re going for. (But it might not be. 
)
