Dye Question

Hi,
I am making a sweater for my mom. She picked the pattern and the yarn. Problem is, I hate the color. I’m having such a hard time making this because of the color. She has seen it and she loves it, so that’s really all that matters.
BUT, in case she changes her mind, I’m wondering if I can dye it.
It is a blend of 83% wool, 17% nylon.

Any suggestions? oh, it now is a combination of medium/dark gray and light grey that I swear has a hint of yellow in it! YUK! It is by Artful Yarns and called Legends.

Thanks,
Jen:knitting:

Yes, nylon can be dyed and a wool/nylon blend should take color nicely.

:angelgrin:it takes an angel to knit ugly yarn! you are that angel !cloud9

Thank you Carol, that made me laugh and smile! At least the yarn is on the soft side;)

Linda,
Is there any dye you would recommend?
Thanks!

Hi Jen,
Because your yarn has already been chemically treated, I’d use something like procion. You may have to use a color remover first, depending on what new color you choose. Here’s a link to a craft dye provider - I’ve never used Dharma but they have a good rep.
