I am wanting to order some of the clearance yarn at http://www.knitpicks.com/ When I click on a yarn, I notice that underneath the picture of it and slightly to the right, there is a skein of yarn with a number on it. What is that number? Is it important?
Dumb Question About Knit Picks
I don’t see that, or maybe I’m not looking in the right place, but it’s probably the number that indicates the weight. 1 - fingering, 2 - sport, 3 - DK or light, 4 - worsted, 5 - bulky, 6 - super bulky. There’s also laceweight which doesn’t have a number, but if it did, it would be 0.
ETA - I did some more clicking on yarns and now see what you said. And yes, it’s to indicate yarn weight.
Try looking at this one: http://www.knitpicks.com/Shine+Worsted_YD5420140.html
Underneath the picture of the yarn and slightly right you should see the little black yarn with a number on it. Does this picture help?
I edited the post above, I did see it and it is for the yarn weight.
Okay! Thanks so much! It makes a lot more sense now!
