I have a pattern that states “drop next stitch from needle and allow to unravel for 5 rows.” I don’t know how to do that.
Just take the first stitch off the left needle w/o knitting it. It’ll slowly unravel. Depending on the yarn you may have to help it.
YES, BUT HOW DO I LIMIT IT TO UNRAVELING FOR 5 ROWS? THIS IS THE “DROP THE GAUNLET” SCARF AND WRISTLETS OUT OF CREATIVE KNITTINGMAG (CREATIVEKNITTING.COM JAN 2010 PG 45)
No need to yell. Caps are yelling in the internet world.
I can’t see the pattern closely enough, but I think the pattern itself limits the drop. Some stitch you did 5 rows below will keep it from going further. I’ve seen patterns like this before and that’s what stopped it. Give it a try and see how it works.
thanks sorry about the caps
Let us know how it goes! It looks like a pretty pattern so share it in What’cha Knittin’ when you’re done.
