Dropped stitch near gusset

Hello All, I am knitting a christmas stocking and I seem to have dropped a stitch just before I picked up the stitches for the gusset. I watched the vides on dropped stitches and that is just fixing one you just dropped. I also watched the one about fixig a purl stitch that should have been knit several rows back. Can I use the same principal for picking up that dropped stitch before the gusset? I have never picked up a stitch that many rows back before, and in the round too!

Hi Katiebeee
I personally would undo back to where you dropped the stitch.
Someone else might be able to tell you how to do it though. Good luck

I consider myself an advanced beginner knitter, and probably am not the one to answer this question, but I would try working the stitch back up with a crochet hook, but mentally prepare myself that I might have to frog back to that point if it didn’t work. It’s always a great thrill to take the chance and have it work out—and I’ve found great pleasure in finding I can rip back a couple of rows and find my place again.

(The first time I watched my friend helping another friend with a mistake and say,“Here…just rip out these rows” while yanking her yarn off the needles and unraveling, I nearly hyperventilated! But soon, I was doing it myself without a qualm. There’s great peace in knowing you don’t have to start over every time there’s a mistake).
