I am trying to knit a drop stitch scarf and the pattern says yarn over three times. Does that mean three stitches? Or does it mean to wrap around the stitch three times? I don’t think its difficult, is it??
You’ll do a yarn over three times, so just wrap your yarn around the needle three times. It isn’t difficult. You do the yarn over independent of the other stitches on your needles.
Just remember that in the next row after the one where you wrap round the needle three times you just knit a stitch as the pattern will tell you and you let the wrapped yarn drop off the needle. Once you do a few of these across you’ll see the effect. Those nice long drops
Amy has a nice video of it here if you scroll down to Decorative Stitches and then watch the video for Elongated Stitch.
