Drop garter stitch

I am having problems trying to work the drop garter stitch, can you please explain in details how it is done. thanks.

I did mine with an odd number of stitches.

  1. for the “setup” row, I did K1 wrap K1 wrap K1 wrap K1, ending with a K1.
  2. the next row is K1 drop K1 drop K1 drop K1 and so on, ending with a K1.

the wrap is simply wrapping the yarn around the right needle once. it’s done in the same direction that you wrap the yarn when you do a knit stitch.

the ‘drop’ is just pushing 1 loop off the left needle.

in the attached pic I wrapped once per wrap. for wider drop row, wrap twice. but if you wrap twice, you would push 2 loops off the left needle every time you ‘drop’.
