DPNs

I was looking to buy dpns and was wonderng if 9inch dpns were a good size to buy.

I saw a good deal on amazon for $25: http://www.amazon.com/Double-Bamboo-Knitting-Needles-Pieces/dp/B000OPEEGW/ref=wl_it_dp_o_npd?ie=UTF8&coliid=I1O661GPYHLBSA&colid=1AK8GOPOXSDXB

I bought a set of straight needles for $25 from the same guys and I love it…

I think most people find 5-7" needles more useful. The 9" long one may be good for hats because they can hold a larger number of stitches, but the extra length may get in the way on a smaller item such as socks or mittens. Short single point needles are usually 10" so these would only be an inch shorter.

I do have some about 9" long in bigger sizes (like 7 and up) that I use for things like hats or whatever that use larger yarn, but the ones I use for socks, mittens etc. are all 7" and they work well for me. I don’t have any of the little short ones, but wouldn’t mind having some sometimes. More needles. :woot:

Better too long, I think, than too short through so it is up to you.
