Dpn

:woohoo: I just figured out how to work with DPN, I had feared the dreaded DPN, avoided any patterns that called for them. Today I did it! Just had to share, I am sure a Newbie:woohoo: :happydance:

You’re not alone. A lot of knitters are afraid of DPN’s. But it’s not hard. Just remember you work with only two out of the four [or however many you’re using].

Quick story: I was engaged to a man years ago who turned out to be a creep. (He’d told me how when he was a teenager, he and his friends hung out down by the creek… and considered any girls who came down as fair game for rape. Then he saw my face and hastened to add, “But I didn’t do it - I only watched!”]

So I put the engagement ring in his mailbox with a note. Sure enough, he turned up a couple of hours later at my house, ready for battle. I sat quietly with four thin, silver, very sharp DPN’s knitting on a sock. He burst through the door… and I just kept those “weapons” between me and him the whole time.

It worked! He didn’t lay a hand on me. In fact, he stayed on the far side of the room. Whew! The only damage was when he kicked the screen door open to exit the house.

Moral: never argue with a lady armed with 4 sharp double-pointed knitting needles!
