I am making some fingerless mittens on DPN’s and I have BO 6 stitches for thumb, I am stuck on how to CO 6 stitches, what is the best way to do this? I am fairly new to working with DPN’s but love it.
There are several ways to cast on in the middle of a project. Most people probably use the backward loop method, but there is also knitting on and cabled cast on. At the top of the page there are videos for the various techniques.

With dpn’s I always use the backward loop cast on, it’s just easier to manuever for the fingers somehow.
csrhrr and nstssj - couldn’t you two have picked harder to pronounce names?

I don’t like the edge you get with looping and find it hard to knit from sometimes, I would use knitted or cabled. What do you like the look of best?
