Saw this on Ravelry and decided to try it. I’m knew to shawl knitting so this has been a tad confusing and a learning experience for me. I’m doing well…only a few more rows and I’ll be able to start the clues posted today on Jimmy Beans Wool blog. There’s also a Rav thread in their group.
I don’t really recommend trying it till the season is done at this point because there’s been multiple errors and miscommunications. You’d also be behind, but if you’re good figuring out things on your own go for it. This was how mine looked a few days ago, but I’m a little further now.
I’ve been wondering how this is going for you? That’s really pretty. I can hardly wait to see what the whole thing will look like! That’s a good photo for when someone asks about a lifeline too.
Oh! True, I will add more pics as I get them. I haven’t been around as much other than banning the creeps  because I’ve been working on figuring this out and reading the nuts in the Rav thread. :teehee:
I’ve got over 300 stitches now… maybe closer to 400. Each row takes a long time.
You’ll have fun with the BO won’t you? Do you know which one you’ll use? I’ve been using the k2tog BO lately and really like it a lot.
That’s going to be so beautiful when it’s done. I’m so glad you got the lovely yarn for it.
As I’m Ravely challenged and never seem to be able to find anything other than patterns there, could you link to the thread you mentioned, please? Pretty please with cherries on top? I’d like to see what people are saying. I’ve missed your input but figured you were busy elsewhere. I’m glad it was with the shawl.
The shawl is going to be lovely. The edge work is beautiful, Jan. I can see where it would be a big distraction to try and knit while the program is running. Just too much to keep up with.
It looks great so far. Drives me nuts when the directions are incorrect. I always wonder how, if they are goofed up do they make and photograph a perfect piece? lol Can’t wait to see it finished.
The lace pattern is beautiful! Is the color red or fuschia? I can’t quite tell on this screen. I’ve never participated in a knit-along, but they sound like fun!
dturner- The color is red
GG- No idea what bind off I’ll use yet, but not looking forward to that!
Nonny2t- because it’s a mystery KAL there is no picture! Most she told us is it’s a crescent shaped shawl.
I had to frog it and start over. It was just too long. :help: I’ve now cast on less stitches and started again. I liked what I was getting so I’ll get there eventually. Kind of hard to knit while watching the Olympics!
Thanks! So am I. So glad. I cast on nearly 100 less stitches, but it still felt like it took forever. It’s been over 85 every day here so it should dry quickly and I’ll post the FO.
