Double seed stitch pattern

hi,i m working on a sweater where it says:
work in patt A across 6 sts,
where patt A is double seed stitch(even number of sts)
rows 1 & 2:k1,p1,repfrom.
rows 3& 4:p1,k1,rep from.
rep rows 1-4 for patt.

i m not able to understand this,how to work across 6 sts exactly.

Just do the kp or p k sts for 6 sts. The rest of the sts will be in stockinette or whatever.
