Double moss stitch

I am having a senior moment with the double moss stitch. The problem is with decreases done at the beginning of a row. On the row after the decrease, do I still start with a knit or do I purl, because the knit stitch has been absorbed by the decrease?

Best thing to do is to look at the second or third stitch on the lefthand needle (reading your knitting) and work backwards to the first stitch from there. Do whatever stitch it takes to keep the pattern correct in the body of the knitting.
