Double Moss Stitch

I am in need of some help figuring out the Double Moss Stitch.

I am starting a sweater for my hubby this week & need to do my test gauge with the yarn & needles. This is what the pattern (SRK Marble 106) is telling me to do:

19 sts and 27 rows = 4"/10cm in double moss st pattern using size 4.50 (US 7) needles.

I am at a loss all of a sudden :??the double moss stitch & it isn’t clearly defined in the pattern instructions anywhere. ARGH!

Is the double moss stitch:

Row 1 & 3: K2, P2 Row 2 & 4: P2, K2 or

Rows 1 & 2: K2, P2 with Rows 3 & 4: P2, K2

I have seen it listed both ways? Which way would be correct for my pattern?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your words of wisdom in advance

Since it’s a British pattern I think it would be the British version of double moss which is alternating knits and purls across the row for two rows, and then alternating purls and knits for two rows so it would be your 2nd example.
