Hi, I’ve just tried a practice piece of double knitting. I think it’s really cool 
. But a question, is it possible to do cables in double knitting?
Well, I had never heard of cables in double knitting before but apparantly you can do them.
This pattern is also in a book called Extreme Double Knitting by Alasdair Post-Quinn.

Sure. Cables, increases, decreases. If you can do it in singular knitting you can do it in double-knitting.
You can also double knit with more than two colors.
You can also double knit different patterns on the two sides.
Gosh the mind boggles and the brain aches! :cheering: I want to learn more. 
Yes you can DK with more than 2 colours, do cables and lace… you just have to re-arrange your sts for cables… I have not tried the lace but I have seen finished objects…
I just made these mittens with 3 colours on one side and 2 on the inside mitten…

Pearl, think of it this way, it is only one stitch at a time, if you can DK then you can make any project you want as long as you have patience. DKing is not a fast knit…

GG: I self taught myself in 2011 and haven’t stopped from our conversations in your forum. Yes, I do all of my own designs, I have more designs created, but I don’t offer a pattern for sale till I have the item knitted so I can take lots of pictures…see you on your forum later…
